Tides of Resistance and Memory

From the Dominican mountains to Haitian communities in Cuba and the Dominican Republic: five films examine the ways in which violence, migration and separation have continued to impact Haiti and the Dominican Republic into the present day. In dialogue with one another, they foreground ancestral knowledge, spirituality and community and reveal themselves to be a powerful tool for preserving identity, processing loss and imagining other futures.
