Romy Miller (Nicole Kidman) is the founder and CEO of a company that is just taking off on the stock market. Privately, she is happily married to a renowned theater director (Antonio Banderas) and mother of two daughters. Among the new interns at Romy's company is also Samuel (Harris Dickinson), who confidently breaks all the rules, challenges Romy's dominance and sparks suppressed passions in her. They start an affair that soon pushes all bounds. Romy can't go back, is increasingly losing control and thereby puts everything at risk.
